KWSC Annual November Thanks and Giving
KWSC held its second annual Thanks and Giving event, designed not only to give back but also to help our community better understand two local organizations that are quietly making a major impact.

Our first speaker, Amanda Doggett, Director of Community Involvement for the Avalon Center, introduced the breadth of services provided by this dual-accredited sexual & domestic violence agency. Avalon's mission is to break the cycle of abuse and help survivors to rebuild their lives with dignity and support. To help further the Avalon Center's mission, KWSC donated $500 in gift cards and $600 worth of essential items including household supplies, food, and personal care products. These contributions provided immediate relief to individual and families staying at the Avalon campus.

Our second speaker, Alyce Donelson, Adoption Coordinator for Pawsitively Positive Adoptions shared a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges faced by stray and feral cats in our region. The organization focuses on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), a humane and effective way to reduce overpopulation and prevent the cycle of unwanted litters. Thanks to the generosity of our KWSC members they received 295 pounds of cat food, litter and $375 in gift cards.
